AVIN Pulse is AVIN’s new premium wood-fired pizza oven, handmade in stainless steel in Cape Town, as at home with a Sunday roast or a slow fire-cooked pot as it is with pizza. It is the fire everyone ends up standing around. Its Bluetooth dome thermometer and the AVIN Pulse app put the fire and the food on your phone, within Bluetooth range, and tell you when it is time to take the roast out to rest, so you stay in the conversation and the AVIN stays the centre of it.

The AVIN Pulse app

The dome thermometer reads your AVIN and up to four probes in whatever you are roasting or slow-cooking in the pot. The app shows it all in big, readable numbers and tells you when to act, so the cook gets to be a guest too.

What Pulse does

  • Pick what you are cooking by picture

    Tap the cut and how you like it done. The app sets the target for you. No menus, no charts to look up while everyone else is already at the fire.

  • Numbers you can read from the stoep

    Big, glanceable gauges for your AVIN and every probe you have in, on your phone or on a tablet in landscape. One glance, and you are back in the conversation.

  • Told when to act

    A clear alert when the roast reaches its target, with a resting timer to follow, and for meat targets the thermometer sounds its own alarm at the AVIN too. Range alerts tell you when the fire is dropping or your AVIN is running too hot. Until then, stay where you are.

  • Every cook, recorded

    The app records the AVIN and probe curves on its own. Add notes and photos, compare this Sunday’s lamb with last month’s, and share the chart with the people who were there.

  • Recipes that talk to the thermometer

    Curated AVIN recipes for the Pulse set the probes and targets for you, so the dish everyone asks for again is repeatable.

  • A community of AVIN cooks

    Swap what worked, what did not, and what you served with it, with other AVIN owners.

The thermometer accessory

  • A dome thermometer for the AVIN Pulse, with the AVIN’s own temperature sensor built in
  • Four probe ports, so you can track up to four cuts at once. The number of probes in the box depends on the package.
